Polle is the Pony Express cartoon horse mascot, appearing in ship posters and a motion-sensing statue. His nightmare forms belong to Jimmy’s hallucinations. Connecting each form to a specific moral meaning is interpretation.

What I saw

The store screenshot shows Polle as a company mascot statue. Nightmare forms are described by the community account; the page separates those depictions from interpretations of their meaning.

The company horse

Posters say things like “Polle Says” and advertise mouthwash that kills 99.9 percent of germs. The statue speaks. A developer Q&A, repeated by the wiki, traces the look to the Finnish children’s magazine Hevoshullu.

The community Polle article attributes his voice to Martin Halldin and describes words recorded separately and stitched together, citing an earlier developer Q&A. This production detail remains a single-source account here; the anniversary Q&A separately supports the design inspiration.

The other shapes

Jimmy’s hallucinations turn the horse into a many-limbed creature, a blind beast in the cargo maze, a centipede in the vents, and a final pile. The sources read those shapes as guilt and as the words “take responsibility.” The reading is widespread. The shapes are in the game. The moral is interpretation, except where the developers have talked about the mouth ending.

Polle is not a crew member and has no age.
