Curly is the captain of the Tulpar. Before the crash you see through his eyes. After it he is burned, unable to move or speak, and kept on painkillers. His fate at the end is left open.
What I saw
The Steam screenshots show Curly both before and after the crash. The character page distinguishes the playable pre-crash captain from the injured post-crash figure, rather than treating the images as the same scene.
What is sourced
Curly captains the Tulpar and is a playable viewpoint before the crash. His injuries leave him unable to speak or move. Jimmy eventually puts him in the one working cryopod. The game does not show a rescue or an awakening. Wikipedia describes roughly 20 years of cryostasis (single-source duration).
A dead pixel that Anya can see and Curly cannot is used, including by players, as a picture of problems he will not look at. That reading is interpretation. The pixel itself is in the game.
The name
Writer and art lead Johanna Kasurinen states in a public post that Curly’s full name is Orion Carling, explaining the licensed ID-card merchandise. The community wiki cites that same post. This is one primary statement plus a dependent retelling, not two independent confirmations.
The in-game card and later licensed merchandise are different evidence. No official numerical age or height was verified in this review.
